Indian wedding is full of many meaningful rituals. These all rituals are very significant for happy married life of couple. All tradition have their own importance in Indian wedding. The most important ritual of Indian is the Saptapadi or Saat Phere. In ritual saat Phere bride and groom promise together for seven very important aspects of life. The manners in which these seven steps are taken differ. In some South Indian marriages, these seven steps are taken towards the Southern direction with the groom holding the little finger of the bride and then going round the sacred fire.

The first step is taken to earn and provide a living for their household or family, and avoiding those things that might harm them. The second step is taken to build their physical, mental and spiritual powers and to lead a healthy lifestyle.
