Indian marriage is the subject of custom tradition and love. The role of jewelry in Indian marriage plays a vital role or you can say that it walks side by side. At the time of ring ceremony the gold ring is exchange between the spouse and they are bind in the holy marriage relation. The main jewelry that is important in the marriage is Mangalsutra. Mangalsutra is mark of marriage for the Indian women. It represents the long relation and life of husband. The pendant must be gold plated and the thread is changed according to the different custom. The south Indian women wear the yellow thread with the Mangalsutra. Most of the Indian women particularly in the central and western part, wear black bead as sign the Mangalsutra. The black colour destroys the evil of the husband. The nose ring of the gold is also one important jewelry. It is basically important in the high cast and some tribal do not follow the custom. At the time of marriage, particularly in the Bengali marriage the sindoor is filled with gold ornament in the brides head. Gold gets its shine after heating in the kiln so gold is considered as the purest metal and that is the reason the gold is having the prominent place in the Indian marriage.
