‘Tilak’ ceremony is the starting ceremony of Sikh wedding in which Tilak is applied after that a ‘bhaiji’ of Gurudwara offers a suitable date for both parties to marriage. The ‘Chura’ Ceremony has special in Sikhs wedding in which bride’s maternal aunt and uncle put white and red bangles on the bride’s wrist. This ceremony is performed in the home of bride.
In ‘Gana’ ceremony a red thread is tied to the right wrist of the groom and left wrist of bride. The powder of mustard oil, barley flour and turmeric is put on the bodies of both bride and groom after this they take bath. ‘Mehendi’ ceremony is performed on the eve of marriage day it is too a part of wedding.
The ‘Milni’ Ceremony is done on wedding day. ’sehra’ is tied on groom’s forehead and a garland of notes put around his neck this work is done by groom’s sister. Thus Sikh wedding ceremony ends with “Doli’ or ‘Vidai’ ceremony.                        Â

The Groom and the bride go to temple in the morning on wedding day and then “Haldi” ceremony is done. Groom’s family wear turban and groom’s wedding costume is “Kafni” with legging. Then Groom and Bride’s family turn up to the temple along with bride and groom. In the temple groom and bride circling around holly fire in which a knot is tied between bride’s sari and groom’ scarf, after that groom and bride put garland to each another neck. A simple thread or a gold chain according their economic status tied around bride’s neck by Groom. Groom put red powder” Sindoor” on the bride’s hair which shows that bride has become married woman, and the last bride and groom both touch their parents feet to get their bless. Therefore temple marriage is till now is existence.    Â

There are many types of marriage laws in India to run marriage activities. There are most of people Hindu, Muslim and Christian. There is a Hindu Marriage Act, Muslim Marriage Act, and Christian Marriage Act for marriage and divorce to Hindu, Muslims and Christian people respectively.

According Hindu Marriage Act the boy and girl should be 21 and 18 years of age respectively. This law came into existence in 1955. According Hindu Marriage Act the boy and girl both should be same religion and they should not be involved in prohibited relationship

Similarly Muslim follows Muslim Marriage Act during marriage. According Muslim Marriage Act a man can marry with four wives if he treats equally them. According it marriage is a deal and it may be temporary or permanent.     Â
