Engagement ceremony-it is called patri patra ceremony .In this ceremony the bride and the groom family give the marriage card to the other family and then the engagement or ring ceremony is done.

Vridhi ceremony-In this ceremony the ancestors are worshipped for the good marriage life of the bride groom
Dodhi mangal –In these ceremony the 10 women give the water to the bride or the bathe than they are offered the curd with the rice and fish. This ceremony is done in both the houses
Wedding Piris-this is the wooden plank decorated by the relatives in which the bride and groom are sits.
Tattavas-it is the ceremony of exchanging the gifts between the bride and groom

According to me the best thing which I have seen in Indian shaadi, both bride and grooms are shares their feeling and they do shaadi because of their feelings that they will live happily and will take well understanding between them also if shaadi is arrange it means big wishes from their parents, relatives and friends they get and this best wishes gives power to both bride and groom.

There are many rituals are applied during wedding in India. These rituals start from ring engagement and continued after wedding till Vidai.
