Kinds of Wedding Customs

Indian wedding customs are grave relationships, as they aspire towards a ‘happy married life’ for the couple. Most of the Indian wedding customs engross together the bride and the groom. All the Indian wedding customs have a deep and deep consequence close to them. Generally, priests carry out the customs.
Throughout the recital of these customs, the priest also recites a number of “shlokasâ€. Each shloka has a meaning close to it. The priest also tells the bride and the groom what the shlokas mean. Some priests also notify the bride and groom, regarding the guidelines laid along for a happy matrimonial life.

The Muslim law in India means that portion of the civil law, which is applied, to Muslims as a personal law. It consists all the rules and regulations of kuran and further the high court and Supreme Court of India modify it. The Muslim marriage is called as Nikah in their language. The Muslim Marriage [nikah] according to the Muslim law is a leading permanent contract between two people before a mullah. In the Muslim marriage according to their Muslim law it is must to have a proposal for the marriage first known as Ijab from one male party and the approval known as Qubal from the other party. This is term essential in the contract. Though no marriages can take place without the free consent of both the party. The consent should not be obtained by any means of fraud or compulsion. The Muslim parties who enter into a Muslim marriage, they also have to enter into any agreement, which is enforceable by law. The law provided should be reasonable and should not opposed to the policy of Islam. Same as in the case with a model contract. The terms of a marriage contract may also be within legal limits to go with individual cases.

The following terms are required to fulfill for the Muslim marriages:
1. Proposal and acceptance
2. Competent parties
3. No legal disability
4. There must be a marriage gift given, little or more, by the bridegroom to the bride.
5. Mehar it is a promise to pay a certain amount of money to bride at the time of divorce.

Agni is the most holy thing treated in the all the religion. That’s why in the wedding time Agni dev is invited to be the witness of the saat phere for the bridegroom. As all the Hindu marriage are having some difference in the tradition but saat pher, kanyadaan, haldi and mehndi customs are almost done in all the marriages. Saat phere are also called saptapadi all the phere are done with some mantras and they are having some meaning and worship to make the good life of bridegroom. So here I try to discuss the meaning of the phere shortly.
First vow-bridegroom takes the oath that they will accept the family of each other and always be respectful with them. The bride always tries to avoid the things that harm their family.
Second vow-they will always maintain the love and trust between them to live the good life.
Third vow-they will always be the partner of joy as well as sorrows as they become the Ardhangini of the other means the half body part of other
Fourth vow-it said that you would always fulfill the responsibility towards your family.
Fifth vow-You will teach your children with the love trust and fulfill their all responsibility
Sixth vow- healthy, self control and life is full of peace.
Seventh vow-they will become their life partners for the whole life with love.
Than after doing g the phere the bride and groom takes the ashirwad means the blesses of all and than brides vidai is done than bride started the journey of his new home.

The Special Marriage Act came in regulation on 9th of October 1954 in India. Jammu and Kashmir territory is out of this law but special marriage act is applicable in all provinces of India. In special situations a boy and a girl can get married under this law.
The boy and girl those fulfill required age limit for marriage according Indian law can get married. According this law the boy and girl should not be real brother and sister, neither the child of same father different mothers nor same mother different fathers. Â
The boy and girl have to summit a special form in district with a written notice the forms can find from marriage officer. This notice can summit the district where the boy or girl, otherwise both is living together just before one month from submitting the marriage application.
A marriage officer has the right to set aside of marriage application only that cases in which the boy and girl don’t fulfill necessary clause. If officer doesn’t tell rejection point then party can appeal in District Court within 30 days from the rejection of marriage application. Â
